![]() V.5.0 389x (ET3890A, ET3891A) THE 3890-3891 IS NOT LONG BEING STOCKED ROUTINELY. The 389x is Addtronics' true Midtower/desktop case. (There is no difference between the 3890 and the 3891 except for the bezel.) Made to the same standards and with the same general features as the x896 series cases, it is an excellent basic workstation case. Wider than the x896 series cases, it achieves its shorter height by use of a 'pass by' design for the motherboard--that is, the main horizontal chassis member is in the middle of the case and supports the PS, 5.25 drive column, etc. Although a tight fit, there is room for a slotket installation with a compact sink and fan. There are two 80 mm. intake fan mounts, one in the lower front and another on the right side of the 5.25 drive column. While there is no backboard exhaust, the location of the a socket CPU sink and fan is immediately adjacent to the PS intake grilles, and the case cools very well when equipped with an Enermax PS. SIZE: 16.3" actual case height, 8.5" wide x 17.3" deep. DRIVES - exposed: two - 3.5; three - 5.25; hidden: two - 3.5 standard, in a 2HD hanger mounted by the slots. FANS MOUNTS - lower front: one 80 mm. fan cage 5.25 drive column: one 80 mm. fan cage on right side. MODIFICATIONS

COMMENT: Although this is a pricey setup for a true midtower, the durability of the construction and the quiet airflow can make it a worthwhile purchase for someone needing a smaller midtower case for long-term use. Do keep in mind the constriction at the CPU-HSF area, however. Addtronics 7890 and 6890 |
